I wrote two poems last saturday. I'll share the first one.

Lexis of life

Unleash.
Passion unfolds
Return to the past
Minimize
Till the kingdom conquer
The tales of existence.

Tranquil
Be bothered
Silence in stillness
Exaggerate
When the flowers bloom
In its endless fragrance.

Desire
Spirit breathing
Endure the deprivation
Dream
While the reality
Meets the reverie.

Unleash
Tranquil
Desire

Exist.

I was absent at work yesterday because its my tatay’s birthday. It’s been a great and relaxing day for us. During the afternoon, I received a text message from one of my 1st year student asking me where I am and why am I absent. I told him that I already resigned and they will have their new teacher today :-p . I told them this morning that I was just joking and hope that they will behave properly in the coming days since they told me that I am their fave teacher (I don’t believe them ehehe) and they will miss me if ever I decided to resign.

I was asked by the adviser of Ang Lagablab, the students’ official publication of PSHS, to help them in the lay outing and graphic designing of their newspaper. It’s been years since I left the university publication and I still don’t know if I still have the knowledge in using the Adobe PageMaker software for desktop publishing. Hope that I can review the techniques in lay outing and I’m sure I will enjoy the whole week helping them in their newspaper.

Tomorrow will be the start of my violin classes by Ms. Precy of Samplaloc, Manila. (Until now, I don't even know the exact location of her Music studio but I'm sure that I can find her). Wish me luck!

Just discover another great filipina artist in the name of Pearlsha Abubakar a.k.a. Isha under the Candid Record Philippines label, a indie music recording company. Just got her CD last wednesday and after hearing her for the first time I was just hooked to the chant of her voice. The album includes eight (8) originals written and composed by ISHA herself including the piano instrumental 1992, the sweet and simple ‘Someday’, the tranquil happiness of endless rain ‘When It Rains’, the challenging battles of a married life in ‘Stormy We’, sad and poignant ‘Lately, I’ve Been’, the songwriters ‘beloved’ ‘Life After’, ‘Ice Skating’ and ‘Tomas and Tereza’ inspired by the famous Milan Kundera book THE UNBEARABLE LIGHTNESS OF BEING.

But few of my favorites are her interpretation of Peggy Lee's "I'll Be Seeing You" and "and "Our Love Is Here To Stay"
--
ISHA’s haunting rendition of ‘Ill Be Seeing You’ will surely send shivers, painting an ‘eerie’ and ‘ghostly’ level of goodbye and reminiscing memorable places.

Just got my violin this week and already talked to my violin teacher on the phone just this morning. One of my goals this year is to learn the instrument and mastered it in the next few years. Violin is the hardest instrument to learn according to others but I hope that I can make some music using the instrument in the near future.

A comment from a colleague...
Oo, tama yang violin classes para di naman puro computers ang pinagkakaabalahan mo. Pero tuloy pa rin tyo sa PHP training natin sa UP-ITTC sa October ah

We just arrived from the awarding program of the Programming Contest our students have won last week in UP. We were dismayed with the kind of activity or program that the UP Cursor had prepared in which we are expecting a suitable event prepared by UP students. After the event, we proceeded to SM north to eat our merienda in Cabalen Restaurant to avail the ‘eat all you can’ promo they have. As we are in the restaurant a lot of jokes have cracked(;-) by apparently intelligent students and teachers..ehehe.
I really missed capampangan foods and as of now, im ready to eat a lot this coming weekend since i spend my dinner the whole week in different fastfood joints here in Manila

"Stay still, be quiet, and listen to your heart. Then, when it speaks, get up and go where it takes you"

Its been 7 months since I decided to work and live independently here in the metro. For the past days I do feel some sense of loneliness. Maybe because I really missed my life back in Angeles. I missed our house, food, place, friends and just someone to talk to. I am stucked with a lot of high school kids wherein I'm acting not just their teacher but also as an older brother or sometimes a father to them, either inside the classroom or in the school's dormitory. A friend asked me if how did I finally decided to go back in teaching since I am the least patient in our college group. He recalls that I'm easily irritated with some kakulitan of my classmates back in college. Its really funny how I used to power trip against them by writing some of their stories either in my column in the school paper or making them as some of my characters in some fictional stories that we published. Now, I can proudly say that I've matured for the past months and trying to start a life on my own here. I'm ready to conquer the real life and I will make sure that I will succeed.

Another poem written during my college days..

"Isang gabing kapiling si Maria Clara"

Napakaaga ng aking namulatan
ang pagbu-bukangliwayway.
Habang sa aking paglingap
ay aking nabatid ang pagkasira
ng ating kamusmusan na buong gabi nating
pinagbukluran at pinagsaluhan.

Ating pinalaya ang mga katawang nilinok ng tadhana
Masuyong hinukay at tinuklas ang mga kayamanang
tila ginto't dyamanteng ating tinago at iningat-ingatan.
Kasabay ninyo ay natanaw natin ang dalampasigan
At sabay na nilangoy at nilandas
ang napakalalim na dagat
upang marating at matagumpayan

Ngunit bakit ngayon ikaw'y aking kapiling
sa napakasayang paraiso ng buhay.
Napabulong ang aking puso o isip di kaya?
At sinabing
" akoy' nagkamali, isa ka rin pala sa kanila.
Sa mga ganid na aso at masisibang buwaya."

It's been a busy week for us in Pisay. Student competitions, either physically or intellectually, were all around the campus. Now, I can proudly say that Pisay does not only comprise of geniuses and nerds but also students with different talent and skills.

Last wednesday, me and six students went to U.P. for a programming contest for high school students sponsored by the U.P CURSOR. As expected, (yabang!:-))..we got the 1st 2nd and 4th place while a team from Ateneo got the third place. While waiting for the contest to finish, another colleague and I went to the 3rd floor of Melchor hall for a Digital Art and Photography seminar by Daniel Cercado, a geologist and at the same time a professional photographer. As he shows some photos, some of the pics in his portfolios are familiar pictures and places to me since serendipitiously he was a former classmate of my kuya in UP-NIGS.

Yesterday, I was assigned as the teacher in charge for two consecutive seminars here in school as part of the Alternative Classroom Learning Experience program . The first seminar is about 'Blogging' by Clair Ching and J. Angelo Racoma, professional bloggers. Students are interested with the topic since some of them have their own blogs and they really want to improve them. I hope some of my students in the third year are among the participants but unfortunately they have their own scheduled seminar with entirely different topic.

Another seminar is all bout 'Volunteerism' and was sponsored by Rock ED Philippines, a volunteer organization. Volunteers, artist Kidlat Tahimik frm Baguio, and others are just few audiences that participated. Salingdiwa and Kala Bands have performed during the two hour seminar.
