Its been 3 weeks since my last post. Never have the time to update my blog eventhough I am online every single day for the last few weeks. Second Quarter of the school year had just begun and new lessons, submission of requirements(grades) are just few of the errands I must accomplished these days. A former classmate in college had asked me if am I enjoying teaching high school kids. I said that I'm fine with my job as of now compare to most of my former classmates wherein they are working either in Business Outsourcing companies or in Call Centers. I told them that I'm maturing with this kind of work and I'm learning different things everyday either from my students or my co-teachers.

A ParangSae colleague, Christian, texted me about our a former Korean student going back here in the Philippines for a speech contest. Now it proves that pinoy english teachers are the best teachers in the world!

What I noticed about our students in Pisay is that you can't distinguished who is the best and the worst student since they have all the capabilities and knowledge in every aspect of learning. This week, i learned different ways and strategies(techniques..ehehe) on how they study their lessons before the exams. You can find a student at the miidle of the night reading inside the dorm's chapel; You can hear a student reciting his lecture by singing; You can noticed a student reviewing while watching television in the lobby. Thats what Pisay students do during this time and i hope even the pressures in their academic life is that hard, I hope that they will enjoy their high school life as other regular student enjoys.

Its been a busy week for us here in Pisay since the first quarter exams will be next week. For us in CST department, we already gave our long test and practical exams to lessen the burden of the students for next week. Personally, I decided to give them much easier since a number suspension of classes occured for the past days.

We were lucky to be part of the exclusive Asimo Show last week in Makati Shangrila before Asimo will be presented to the public this week in Glorietta Activity Center. Seeing this great humanoid robot will give you an idea on how man's intelligence have prosper for the past years. But what I am always saying to my freshmen students that Computers/Robots can not do all the things that humans can do. Yesterday, i read an article about the Asimo show in Glorietta wherein the robot failed some of its function because the organizers forgot to charge it the night before the show.
