As I am checking some old emails, I got across to this forwarded email from last 2 years ago...I think it is still kinda fitting in light of the recent political instability in our country. The following is the summary of the book "12 Little Things Every Filipino Can Do to Help Our Country " by Alexander Lacson published lat 2006..

1) Follow traffic rules. Follow the law.
2) Whenever you buy or pay for anything, always ask for an official receipt.
3) Don’t buy smuggled goods. Buy local. Buy Filipino.(Or, if you read the book, he suggests: 50-50).
4) When you talk to others, especially foreigners speak positively about us and our country.
5) Respect your traffic officer, policeman and soldier.
6) Do not litter. Dispose your garbage properly. Segregate. Recycle. Conserve.
7) Support your church. During elections, do your solemn duty.
9) Pay your employees well.
10) Pay your taxes.
11) Adopt a scholar or a poor child.
12) Be a good parent. Teach your kids to follow the law and love our country.

These are the 12 simple things every Filipino can do to help our country. At first , they seem so simple. But when you study them more closely, they are difficult to do. But all of us, if we are just willing to be together..i believe that we can do them. Its better to do our share instead of asking these politicos to be good leaders in which I think is very impossible nowadays..

in a chance encounter, sir max soliven met atty. lacson.

max soliven's car bogged down on the one of the major thorough fare of makati.. he was hailing taxi but all of it seemed taken and then a private vehicle pulled and stopped near his car. the driver offered him not just a ride but dropped Max on his destination.

it was just a stranger helping a stranger.. he doesn't know it was max soliven. cool di ba?

and hats off to sir lacson. he practice what he preach.
